Initial coal characterisation, order-of-magnitude capital cost estimates (±30%), plant capacity modelling, and circuit selection rationale for thermal and coking coal. Delivered in 4–6 weeks.
Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR)
Bankable DFR with washability analysis, environmental baseline, statutory permit roadmap, water management plan, capital cost estimates (±10%), and financial modelling suitable for lender review.
Process Flow Diagram & Mass Balance
Circuit-level process design covering coarse coal (HMC/DM Bath), small coal (jigging/spirals), fines (flotation/filtration), and tailings management. Full water balance with recirculation modelling.

John Finlay India’s engineering division is not a drawing office that has never seen a plant operate. Every design decision is informed by our O&M teams, who supervise live washery operations managing a combined 179.2 MTPA of installed coal beneficiation capacity across India.
That operational feedback loop, from live plant to design desk is what makes JFI washery designs inherently maintainable, operable, and profitable. We design for what actually happens underground and on the belt, not for what looks elegant on paper.
